STAT and ASAP Delivery Study 2014/15

The purpose of this study was to determine if hospitals in the CBS Brampton catchment could be provided with some on demand delivery targets. The study encompassed 12 hospitals of various sizes and services over the month of September 2014. The results indicate that the costs of on demand delivery rates must be balanced with the costs of outdated products, particularly platelets, which are generally much more expensive. A one size fits all on demand delivery target for all hospitals may not be appropriate.
