| Recommendations | Early administration of IVIG is recommended in autoimmune retinopathy for treatment of severe disease threatening eyesight. |
| Dose/Frequency of Administration | Induction: 1.5 g/kg adjusted body weight divided over 3 days. Maintenance: 0.4 to 1.5 g/kg adjusted body weight in single or divided dose (maximum 1 g/kg/day), monthly. Once the patient’s condition has stabilized, consider titrating the dose and/or the treatment interval to the lowest dose necessary to maintain clinical effectiveness. Review Criteria Patient response (improvement in visual function or an arrest in the decline of visual function as determined by an ophthalmologist) should be assessed within 3 months of treatment and at least annually thereafter. |
