{"id":12646,"date":"2025-01-27T14:57:27","date_gmt":"2025-01-27T19:57:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/transfusionontario.org\/?p=12646"},"modified":"2025-01-27T15:24:21","modified_gmt":"2025-01-27T20:24:21","slug":"acute-disseminated-encephalomyelitis-igum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/transfusionontario.org\/en\/acute-disseminated-encephalomyelitis-igum\/","title":{"rendered":"Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-036f609a813ebf7c494f7208c56cbbdc\" style=\"color:#477d6c\"><strong>Recommended Indications in which IG can be used<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-small-font-size wp-elements-60c58e95be1890144b67e1c2dc1d389b\" style=\"background-color:#a5cbbf\"><strong>Order Number: N1-ADEM<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-regular\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Recommendations<\/strong><\/td><td>IVIG is recommended for:<br><ul><li> ADEM unresponsive to steroid therapy or where steroids are contraindicated.<\/li><li> Recurrent or multiphasic ADEM unresponsive to steroid therapy or where steroid therapy is contraindicated or has become intolerable.<\/li><\/ul>For patients with relapsing ADEM, alternative diagnoses should be considered, including multiple sclerosis (MS), myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody disorder (MOGAD), or neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), and other therapies may be offered as applicable.<span style=\"font-size: medium;
