{"id":12050,"date":"2024-01-15T08:54:00","date_gmt":"2024-01-15T13:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/transfusionontario.org\/?p=12050"},"modified":"2024-07-25T10:39:30","modified_gmt":"2024-07-25T14:39:30","slug":"mhp-2-0-an-educational-symposium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/transfusionontario.org\/en\/mhp-2-0-an-educational-symposium\/","title":{"rendered":"MHP 2.0 &#8211; An Educational Symposium"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>ORBCoN, Central Region<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On November 9<sup>th<\/sup> 2023, 109 multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals from across Ontario and beyond attended ORBCoN\u2019s Massive Hemorrhage Protocol (MHP) 2.0 educational symposium. The goal of the symposium was to bring together stakeholders to present new topics relevant to the massively bleeding patient, provoke discussion and share the latest in evidence that may impact the current iteration of Ontario\u2019s First Recommendations of Massive Hemorrhage Protocol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The educational event focused on the following 3 fundamental questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. What have we learned?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>data on provincial survey results and pilot data on quality metrics portal&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. What can we expect?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Impending changes due to new products, new trials and new publications &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. Consider a regional policy or learn how others with similar size and services manage or check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/transfusionontario.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/13.AdultApp5.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/transfusionontario.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/13.AdultApp5.pdf\">non-definitive setting checklist<\/a> available to you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although huge strives have been made in the province over the last five years to standardize the care of the massively bleeding patient, there remains room for improvement.
